A Collaborative Storytelling App
Overview
I have always loved the idea of the exquisite corpse. A collaborative drawing technique often used by surrealists in smoke-filled French cafés in the 1920s. This social media app borrows the idea to engage users in collaborative storytelling through photography and short video clips. The name is Arc, as in story arc.
The goal would be for one person to start a story, similar to posting an Instagram story - but in a shared, communal space (not a personal account). Anyone could pick up the next beat, take the story in any direction, to any location, and even travel across time. The goal is to create an engaging and complete story arc. The stories could be as long or as short as needed. The person who starts the story gets to determine when it ends. The community determines how successful it is, and can cast votes for their favorites.
